Really surprised at Monte

I find it hilarious that there are so many that believe that Monte needed to "scheme" for McCluster as if he was refusing to.

Don't you clowns think that the greatest defensive mind in football can see exactly what your podunk eyes see?

You guys ought to call into VolCalls and offer your ingenious suggestions so that Monte will finallly get this fixed.

Yeah, this is what kills me. My wife, who barely knows what a "tackle" is as opposed to a "guard," thinks that our coaches are idiots because they "couldn't stop that one guy. Can't you just put two guys on him or something?" Half this message board seems to be the same way.

WTF! Is this for real? You guys are really questioning one of the greatest defensive minds in history? I'm sure Monte was just standing on the sidelines not trying to fix the problem. You guys need to realize this is a work in progress not a overnite fix.Get a clue.

I just now noticed your post. I like the way you think.

Yeah, Monte should have told the kids "just run faster" and we would've won the game. Geez.

Again, Eric Berry was missing tackles. Everybody was missing tackles. I'm not arguing that we had a great gameplan, but that was a defense that didn't look mentally ready to play on the first drive and never really recovered. There's only so much you can do with X's and O's if the players aren't in the game.

I agree that it isn't Monte's fault. He's one of the most brilliant defensive minds in the history of football. It's obvious that he has struggled against non pro style offenses this year though. He'll get it fixed. But, I still say it's funny to read some of the crap on this board after each game. If we win, we have the greatest staff in the world. If we lose, we have no talent.

They say that because it's true. We have great coaches, but no talent or depth. Poor talent can make any coach look bad. There were several plays where it looked like we would be in position to stop McCluster, but the defenders were too slow to catch him. That's a talent issue, not a coaching issue. You can't make chicken salad out of chicken ****.

I'm sorry, but you don't play to the wire with Bama and Florida with no talent and then turn around and get hammered by Auburn and Ole Miss. There has to be a middle ground. We have some talent. Not an abundant amount, but some. The whole team just looked flat today. I'm not sure if it was all the distractions or not. I don't like excuses. Like one poster said, even Berry looked bad today. Let's just chalk it up as one of those days and go get them next week.

After McCluster shocked our guys on the first drive (thanks Cunningham), we literally were on our heels the rest of the game.

I actually think I saw some palms-up, step-slide basketball style movement from our linebackers as they were trying to keep their nuts from being juked out of their sacks (and yes that is the proper anatomical jargon).

But hey the dude was lightning fast and amazingly shifty so I can't blame them.

I couldn't have said it better.

Are the same people that get all angry with "stupid technology" when it take more than 15 milliseconds to send your data 3000 miles. Greatness takes a little time to develop, you should look a little farther than 5 seconds in front of your face, you might run into something.

He lacks the Jimmys and Joes, Damn!!!!!!! This is the first year he has had to scheme those BS spreads, but believe this! HE WILL EXPOSE THESE GIMMICK HIGH SCHOOL SPREADS ONCE HE GETS THE PLAYERS AND A LITTLE TIME!

Thank you for stating the obvious. Monte has to be more frustrated than anyone. He's the best period! We are rebuilding people. Plus with all the injuries we have had...he is filling in gaps with whatever he can. I will say it again ....get a clue!

Just thought I'd post this here. Neat pic.

After reading that brilliant analysis, you've changed my mind. We should publicly flog both father and son before they have gotten their first class on campus for losing to a good football team on the road with a defense held together by spit and bailing wire and an offense captained by the formerly insane, one-time most hated man in Tennessee football history.

You get the tar, I'll bring the feathers.

It's amazing how 1 loss can create such chaos in our fan base. Enough to want to throw one of, if not the best, defensive coordinators under the bus
