Really good take on the Game and the VOLS

Thanks buddy, that was a great read and a testament to this lunch pail, hard hat, grinder of a team we call the Vols. Helluva season!

I enjoyed the article. The comments are pretty funny from a bunch of MI fans that thing their team walks on water - perhaps this is where god comes in. Thanks for posting.

This was a Tennessee team with talent, not really a lunch-bucket team. But because we don't have a great basketball tradition, we're seeing this sort of inferiority complex kick in after the loss with some people, this underdog "we gave it everything" we had bit. We had good players--McRae and Richardson and Stokes are /good./ Most teams do not have three /good/ players. We could have had a better season than we did, and we could have won this game. This michigan team isn't going to win the title.

Richardson started off his career as a very raw basketball player, and now has turned into a lock down defender and serious offensive threat because of his hard work. Maymon started out this season very rusty, but kept pushing through the pain to become part one of the most dominant rebounding duos in UT history. Barton got into a shooting slump which affected his entire game getting him benched, but kept bringing his lunch pale and spent many hours after practice getting his shot back. He got his starting spot back and helped us go on an incredible run at the end of the season. The entire team could have quit after the fans and media left them out to pasture half way through the season going as far as to create a petition for a new coach. Sure this team had talent, but to say this team didn't persevere and keep working hard(lunch pale style) is just wrong.

Dayton's the only 11-seed left to root for now.
Go Daytons (or whatever they're called).

Time will tell whether we have great talent or not and how many pros Michigan had. It's as simple as that. It's funny that Martin gets criticized for recruiting, yet he brought Josh Richardson here, and now people say that we have talent.

I think most everyone would agree that Michigan has more talent.

I do not think Michigan has more talent than the Vols. In fact, I think they have very little, they just shot the lights out from behind the 3. They have no inside game, unless you consider flopping a talent.

Three point shooting isn't a talent?

2014 Mock Draft | NBADraft.net

2015 Mock Draft | NBADraft.net

It's not definite, but these mocks are good indicators. Stauskas in the 1st round in 2014, and Robinson and Lavert as lottery picks in 2015. In fact, Lavert is ahead of Robinson. You want to say that Michigan doesn't have more talent? Their wings are outstanding even with a limited inside game. They are a serious mismatch.

You noticed the writer said apparent FLop! Shows up the ref doesn't it. I don't understand how you drive out of a 2 man press without going between them. It was apparent that the press closed on Stokes as he drove.
The worst time for a ref to make a bad call. Probable took the game win away from those great Vols that played their hearts out!

Go Big Orange!!!
