Realities of the 40 yard dash....

Less than 2 yards, right? 0.25" is like 1/17 of 4.4" and 2 yards is 1/20 of the distance.

So if he beat him by almost 4 yards then dude probably runs between a 4.75 and 4.80 (without training?).

It appears the Mizzou player is in pads, he's obviously in a helmet, that will change his 40 time quite a bit from what he'll run at a pro day.

Ryan Clark mentioned the fastest 40 time on a team who ran in pads, the Patriots I believe, was a 4.65 run by R Harrison. If he's in pads then that makes it a bit less impressive but still very cool for that kid of course.

Here's an interesting article for the VN

This!

No one will care what any of their 40 times are after the draft...ever again.

Does anyone know the current 40 times for:

Brady
Ryan
Elliott
Prescott
Rogers
Murray
A. Brown
Hilton
ODB Jr.
J. Jones

No! You can either play the game or you can't. Running in a straight line in a t-shirt & shorts doesn't tell me if you can play football.

I've been active most my life (60yo). I played basketball, football, and baseball in high school. I surfed for years while in the Navy. I ski (water & snow), snowboard, scuba, and still go to the gym and still fairly active. I cut my grass for the first time of this year on Saturday(one acre and it's hilly with a push mower) and the way my legs feel right now, here's how a 40 would go for me; I would be in my starting position and when I explode/launch from the start, I would likely go face first into the ground with a destroyed hammy. I could probably break my nose, an orbit, tooth, etc., but a sub 5, or 6, hell even a 7sec. 40 is an illusion of grandeur for this old man. In my prime, maybe a 5.5 and that's being generous.

They should grab a hundred guys age 50 and have them run it. Could be sponsored by Budweiser and Krispy Kreme doughnuts.

I bet if you put those Krispy Kreme doughnuts at the finish line and the first one there gets a dozen of them, 50 percent of the Volnation could break 5.0.
