Realistically, how bad did this hurt our recruiting class?

The biggest recruiting weekend of the year and the stadium was empty by the 4th quarter. Our team was literally run over. Embarrassing.

What would a recruit have seen that makes them want to play for Butch?

They would see that it would be hard to get a scholarship at Alabama, and they need to look elsewhere. Face it. There are a lot of good football schools in the Southeast to play for.

The only thing that we can offer that no other school can is that we get to play Florida, Georgia, and Alabama every year. No other school can make that claim.

Players know what atmosphere we can have (see Florida game). They also all think they can be a game changer in our program.

No quality skill players gonna want to play in this offense. That's why you see our best offensive in state players all going to Clemson

Would certainly raise eyebrows for any undecideds. I'm sure there were some fence sitters whose decision just got much easier. We didn't help ourselves with the heavy hitters still on our wish list.

So after the last 3 weeks offensive output, they bail on UT for lack of production today?

I think it is too soon to tell.....We still have a lot of football to play and very real shot at a rematch in Atlanta.....

I'd refrain from making comments now that will easily be deemed as STUPID in the future....

just a thought! :) :whistling::dry:

We go 10-2 and go to the SECC, it won't matter at all. There's a lot of opportunity for kids to still get early playing time here. That's attractive. We are not going to steal any recruits from Bama or PSU, but we could flip a Georgia, Florida, or Ol' Miss prospect. We are always going to hover in the rankings between 10-5 until the luster wears off Clemson and OSU and maybe FL St.

Recruits are much more rational than the nuts on this board. They'll actually have the ability to see that we've got 3rd stringers and guys who have no business being on the field playing against NFL-level talent. As fans, we expect our team to beat Bama. Recruits don't.

UGA losing to Vandy hurts them more than losing to Bama hurts us.

I'm confused. We go 6-6 or 7-5 and we pull in a top 5 class. And now that Tennessee is a top 15 team and 5-2 and with an excellent chance to be 10-2 we're worried about dropping in recruiting. Using this logic we ought to be just calling Georgia's players because who would want to go to a school that got whacked by Mississippi, lost to Vanderbilt at home, and almost lost at home to Missouri and Nicholls State.
