It's not that I do not support Derek Dooley, It's not that I am 100 percent against him, it's not that I hate him, I have no reason for any of that, but guys, lets be realistic and lets be serious, If Derek Dooley in fact gets officially hired, this is what the schedule is going to end up like, no lie.

Now, some of you may look at that and say, hey that ain't too bad for a first year coach, yeah, maybe your right, but it's mediocre, when does our Vols turn back into a national feared powerhouse, personally, I'm sick of waiting along with tons of other Vols fans, let's hire someone that can take us back to the NC game, let's hire someone that has a proven track record, who cares how much money it takes, someone just please tell Mike Hamilton to get his head out of his ass!

Correct, it was the best case scenario with contributions from this recruiting class, many of which will not be with us.

5-7 is much more likely and I think we need a couple of breaks to go our way for five wins.

What? Let me gt this straight because some fans prefer to be realistic we are "so called fans"? 7-5 was our best case scenario before the turmoil we went through when CLK left. We return almost no starters on O-line, we return no starters at DT, we have a walk on starting at linebacker (if he's healthy) who happens to be our best option. We also have almost no depth at the linebacker position which means that we could once again find ourselves in trouble since we appear to have some injury prone guys at that position anyway. Plus we break in a new QB!

The best case scenario is 7-5 (pipe dream) the most likely record is 5-7 and wouldn't surprise me if it was worse. All this before the turmoil over the coaching change.

We were doomed to that record or worse next season with the Kiffin's as coaches as well...Not a surprise except you actually gave us a winning record on the year

If Derek Dooley gets us to 7-5, he is the second coming of Jesus, and he will send Kiffin to hell posthaste.

That's definitely a best case scenario. If he is able to go 7-5, he will be one of the best coaches in the country. I think even 5 wins will be a stretch for next season. Next season was going to be rough, even with another fantastic recruiting class.

You mean in your opinion! If you are right, please give me your predictions for the SuperBowl and NCAA Basketball Tournament. We'll clean up. That being said do we really want any coach that is willing to treat his current program the way Kiffin treated ours?

I don't know anything about Dooley except that his record at LA Tech was not that good. Certainly not good enough to warrant an opportunity at Tennessee and, yet, he has more of a record than Kiffin and similiar pedigree. So maybe he jumps ship the moment Georgia or LSU come calling.

I'd rather Hamilton and company give the reins to Kippy Brown for a year. If he works out, hire him permanently. If he doesn't, go hire the best coach available. We probably won't be any worse off as Kiffin proved when he was hired. He brought in a respectable class of recruits.

I believe/hope that Hamilton and Company are considering that scenario right now. The future is bright if we don't panic.
