I'm just gonna throw it out there....Chris Burke is not gonna be the head coach here....would be an atrocious hire for Hamilton to hire a guy that's a few years out of MLB and that's NEVER coached at ANY level.....would absolutely blow my mind if it happened

That said....who are some candidates?

I'm HOPING we go for a top notch assistant at a top 10 program.....kind of like the route Florida did when they hired Kevin O'Sullivan

I hear South Carolina and North Carolina have some top notch assistants

Just what we were missing, another replacement thread. Do you even read threads that you don't start?

Chad Holbrook - coach in waiting at South Carolina.

Pat McMahon - former coach at Florida and Miss. State.

Dan McDonnell - head coach at Louisville who would love to move to the SEC.

Also mentioned the name Mike Bell. Not an ideal choice but not far off from my previous ideal candidate want list. Currently the pitching coach at Oklahoma.

I would be pleased with Bell. Low-risk hire.

Rick Honeycutt wanted the job when Raleigh was hired. Best candidate for the job with big league experience. UT alumni and was a great baseball player.

Burke isin't listed, he may be there working in some capacity, but he's not listed as an assistant.

As soon as I heard the name "Mike Bell" on radio....I just knew that we just heard our next coach's name.

Not that I entirely agree with it but I will have to say it was Mike Bell who gave Delmonico his last little gasp of glory in 2005. That staff thin at the start of the season and Bell made it deep.

Maybe due to CRD typical overuse but Adkins was the #1 starter in post season play.

A guy with significant Florida ties. Now midwest ties. A great pitching coach when pitching is more important than ever.

I could live with Bell.

However, would a staff of Serranno has HC and Mike Bell as Head Coach not freakin' Rock!!!!!

Players loved Coach Bell. He's a tenacious recruiter. Very professional. Personable. Knowledgeable.

McDonnell should be the first call. Consistent winner at U of L and top notch assistant at Ole Miss. Is it any coincidence that Ole Miss's strongest teams were with Mcdonnell on staff and they've dropped off a bit since he left?
