the thing is, we are Tennessee football, which is one of the reasons when Peyton came to Tenn. We cannot accept mediocrity and right now we are below mediocre. I bleed Orange and alway will.

I promise you that losing by 14 to a good Florida team would have been easier to stomach than what we witnessed today.

But losing to Florida by only 14 would continue to foster the mistaken belief that he can turn the program around.

Arian negated his own great gain by shoving a player, thus ending what could have been a good drive.

Yes, that was a great example of senior leadership.

Jimmy Hyams just said this team looks like it is poorly coached. Do you think he will win a sports reporting award for reporting this breaking news.

Im a loyal fan, and im paying for season tickets so i can see us do something, not get embarrassed like we did today.

for a long time i supported Fulmer, but his time has come, the reality is that all these newer, younger coaches are out thinking and outplaying him.

He has replaced offensive coordinators and defensive coordinators just about every other year, its time to accept the reality and replace him.

Anyone on here after the loss today has got to be a fan. I think the coaching style is way different. Phil looks for issues and tries to improve on the problems, reminds me of Microsoft releasing a product and letting the customers debug it. The team usually gets better thoughout the season because of this style. Meyer is preemptive, he looks for errros before they happen, great coaching on the fundamentals, turnovers, special teams, everything. I don't think that Phil's strategy can beat UF so early in the season.

The big problem with this style is if they lose to Auburn next week, the sec race and the season for UT is over, before it begun.

Let's think about with an open mind here. Think back to when Fulmer got the head coaching job. He replaced the great Johnny Majors who was a great Tenn coach in his own rights but time came when Johnny had to be replaced. There were some hard feelings but the change in coaching also changed the program for the better. Well, now it is time for the next generation to change our program back to where it should be. This is Tennessee Football were are talking about and should not be at the bottom of the SEC. We as avid Vols fans deserve to be able to brag about our team again.....

Anybody that gets on here saying they're glad we lost because they hate Fulmer is not a real fan. We lost to a pretty good football team today. I was at UCLA when we lost to a bad football team. Its college football. Watch it long enough and you'll see that things don't always go the way you want it to. GO VOLS!

I totally agree! For those of you who blame Phil, it's not always his fault. The announcers on today's game said that Phil told them there was more enthusiasm on the coaching staff than on the team and the team no someone to step up and be the leader. I totally agree with that. Phil is very disgusted with the team. Too many mistakes and that's the players.
The first half of the season has some tough games and if we at least don't split the Auburn, Bama, UGA and Fla games it will be a tough season-8 & 4. I may be dreaming for a 9-3 season, but I hope not.

GO VOLS! I support my team regardless of how they do.

sounds like you support the coaches moreso than the players.

Go away. We lost to a good team. I do not hate Fulmer I just think it is time to go. Win Lose or Draw he has lost his touch and contact with the Game and the team.

Leaders are developed. Coaches who develop leaders do not sit back and wait to see who emerges. Leaders are developed intentionally and coached to excellence.

I've tried to explain to others that I cannot and will not accept mediocrity from Tennessee football over the years when getting so upset over losing to the Gators, Dawgs, etc. Obviously Mikey & Fatboy have no problem with sinking to the bottom of the SEC with great fanfare. This is not a surprise coming at us this season. The decline has been years (if not a decade) in the making. No excuses are acceptable IMHO. We suck and the blame rests squarely at the top of the food as far as I'm concerned. What happens from here is up to us - the Fans, the Alums, the Money. Numbers talk. Like losing every SEC game this season (I pray I'm wrong). Like die-hard Vols fans walking out of the Florida game in Knoxville at the beginning of the third quarter. Hopefully like a sudden dearth of alumni $$$ flowing into Mikey's coffers. Money talks - listen up and pay attention to the successful programs in college football.

this has to be a joke, going into the game I will be honest and thought we didn't have a shot today, but watching the game if we had played even DECENT we come away with a w. Fla is not that good, granted they whipped us again, but I don't think they are a nc contender right now, maybe when they get things clicking, but we have lost 2 games to teams we could've beat and should've beat next week we'll lose to a team that defensively is miles ahead of us but it wasn't that way today

IMO. Anybody that insists on staying with a coach that is past his time could not have the interest of the overall program, team members and any other fans at heart. Living here, I go through allot more trouble to keep up with TN FB than most. I doubt many fans would wake up at 2:30 AM in the morning to just listen to the game(I can't watch it). So please take your orange koolaid and drink it elsewhere. If losing a couple of more games gets rid of Fulmer I would take it. I would rather lose the battle and then win the war.

There's a huge difference here that both sides of this argument are not realizing.

You can pull for the team and still want a change. Am I rooting for TN to beat AU next week? You bet your ass I am.

That doesn't mean that I don't think that we need a coaching change. But I SURE AS HELL am not going to abandon them, or pull for them to lose. I think it's time for Phil to hang it up, but that won't stop me from cheering for the Vols.

Do I think it's likely that we'll rebound? Probably not. Am I going to cheer for them to fail? HELL NO.

We're all "real" fans. We all choose to demonstrate our "fandom" in different ways. One could argue that some methods/thoughts are more extreme, or more logical than others. I'll never stop cheering for the Vols. And as much as I complained today, it never once made me happy because something bad happened.

Bottom line? We wouldn't be here passionately making arguments to people we don't even (in most cases) know if we weren't fans. (except for trolls of course)

That being said...My apologies to anyone I snapped at today. I went back and read, and then edited, a few posts that embarrassed me in hindsight. I'm sure I missed more. And just because I stated (too many times) that JC um...wasn't very good, it really didn't help at all.

GO VOLS!
