Reactions to first day with McKeefery...

Let's get this myth straight, our Dude worked for the military at the most for 3 weeks. He reportedly did not like it b/c it was not hands on, so I doubt if he ever trained any Spec Op guys EVER.

He appears to me a good SC coach, but can we put this military myth to rest.

Give us proof and we will

who cares about military anyway, the training is not even close to similar between Football and Military.

I dunno. I mean the conditioning aspect alone could be very important to the vols. I am sure he is very knowledgable about muscle mass to conditioning ratios.

Even if he never actually trained any of the military, its definitely cred worthy.

Sure, conditioning is important. But the Military doesn't involve or need the type of muscle training, and variety of Muscle training that football players need/have. Discipline is most likely the greatest aspect of having those credentials IMO.

Does anyone know his credentials? Does he have a highly qualified health science degree? I haven't read all the posts on this one. I would assume he is highly qualified in muscle training. The best SCC have the perfect balance between speed strength and conditioning, that the athletes can stay big and strong yet run all day. I know that is a very basic and obvious assessment, but I would guess his military aspect could add another experience and insight that could really benefit us.

Here is McKeefery's linked in account. He lists employment as USF from 2000 - Dec 2010, then UT employment beginning in Jan. 20011.

Ron McKeefery | LinkedIn

He doesn't even bother listing any military employment at all.

Proof, what proof do you need.

He coached at USF thru their bowl season in 2010 (December), he started in Knoxville on Jan 17. How long could he have worked for the military?

Edit - Ghal2814 beat me to it...

Actually, you started it, as I duly gave you credit for in my post.

Also, even if he had worked there for 15 years, the military in general and special forces in particular doesn't have any sort of special insight to give him about the human body or physiology. They hired him (briefly) to give them that, not the reverse.
