Reactions to first day with McKeefery...

I remember that kinda punishment from growing up, myself. There were a bunch of old German farmers where I grew up: so tight with their money that they squeaked, and would work you like a rented red-headed step-mule.

I do not miss those days. I doubt I would survive that now.

I remember after my soph yr in high school I said to myself I'll never haul another bale of hay if I keep my right mind...so far, so good.

Never minded the hay field too awful bad. At least not when I got older. I started when I was 10 and it really kicked my hiney back then.

Now the tobacco patch is a different matter altogether!:bad:

They need to check 40 times with a snake at the starting line. You are suddenly a whole lot faster!
I'm with you in the tobacco patch. I'd take a twenty acre hayfield over a half acre tobacco patch any day.

Never did the tobacco patch thing. I lived in Russellville, KY for many years in the midst of the tobacco country but never had the pleasure. I understand it's a killer. Have picked cotton though for fun (not fun). My grandparents wanted to teach me what it used to be like.

Well when Tracy Hayworth was at Tenn he came home and worked out all summer in the hay fields around home. He bulked up so much they accused him of using steroids and he told them it was hauling hay then eating beans and taters. I know this as fact not hear say as I know him personally.

They all said the same stuff last season and then ran out of gas against Oregon.

They ran out of gas because they were all pumped up and then had the lightning delay. That definitely messed with their intensity.

crump's reference to alcatraz was not dumb, nor did it have anything to do with gangsters or illegal activity...it was simply a reference to how someone looks physically if they have nothing else to do in life but workout constantly...him saying what he said was much simpler than saying something like, "we're gonna look like we don't even go to class just do sit ups and push ups, eating bread and water and pumping iron for 18hrs a day for 15yrs." why must everything be turned into something criminal or "gangsta" with some of you guys...it was an innocent statement.

Hopefully new S&C coach will work the he.. out OL. We need to get back to three yards and a cloud of dust. I miss the days when we imposed our will in the running game for the 4th quarter.
