Eat your heart out Kiffin: :eek:lol:

Tennessee Vols - ranked #7

USC Trojans - ranked #8

Let's hope it stays this way. . .or maybe we'll end up in the top 5!! :good!:

Way to go Dooley!

USC will still get a few, so rankings mean nothing right now. Plus lots will change in the next 4.5 days

Get real. We only have about 5 slots left. We are barely ahead of USC and they can still pull at least 11. We will have to pull a few big names to stay in the top 10.

Who careS where usc is ranked , as long as Tn gets what they want is all that matters. The recruits heading to usc is heading for probation so it wont matter.

What will your reaction be if Kiffin steals a lot of recruits from us. Maybe he is telling them to say they are still committed to us, but on NSD they commit to USC

I, for one, would be irate!

Lane will still take credit for most of this class anyway. Dooley and Co. kept the greater part of this class together. Lets be proud of Dooley and the efforts that this staff has exerted to even crack the top 10; all while doing it with class.

No they can't... because of the 85 scholarships at one time rule (if I am not mistaken) they have to take a very small class this year (around 20 I believe) to stay under the 85 total... where as we have A LOT of spots.

I was listening yesterday to the radio and they were talking about how the USC staff has always preferred to have guys commit on signing day to get the TV coverage. Where everyone is right now, doesn't really matter, it's after signing day that matters with all these guys now wanting to wait until after NSD for the pub.

USC will finish strong on NSD, but forget about them. We need OL, DL, LB, and DB to go along with those we have committed. It is a shame Dooley can't announce a DC before signing day. It is a great class considering what happened. :clapping: Go Vols!

1. They will pass us

2. They will get some of the players that were one time commits to us but less likely to get any or more than one that is currently commited.

3. They completely disrupted our recruiting by contacting all of our top recruits trying to get them to S.C. and failing that confused them and bad mouthed us --some of these will end up not going to UT or SC.

4. We have seen their act before -- don't announce that you have switched your commitment until signing day, etc.

5. Our new staff has done a Hurculean job - nothing short of amazing. If we conclude with a top 10 or even a top 15 class we have done extemely well and dodged a major bullet.

6. Next years recruiting class will need some JC defensive tackles first and foremost imo.

7. Hats off to CDD and staff for an tremendous job.:hi:

I didn't say they weren't going to pass us... and the job our staff has done has been nothing short of Outstanding...

Someone had said they can sign up to 11 more people, and I was just saying that from what I have read, they can only sign around 5 more to hit the 85 ceiling... and yes, they will probably steal some of those from us.

Even if they pull the same number that we pull, you can garantee theirs will be higher rated players. What cdd is doing is incredible considering the circumstances. The problem is the circumstances. We are taking players we normally would not be considering because of x's late move. They can be good players but the percentages say more four stars will work out than threes.

Well by the time Kiffin runs off about 20 players (we lost 22) he will be well under the limit for next year.

Some stunning insight here - the last staff disrupted our recruiting, X likes NSD surprises, we need DL's, and our current staff has saved the class from being a train wreck.

Maybe that Illumunati stuff is real! How else do you explain this guy providing such secrets of the dark unknown - or that he sees things with such depth and clarity? Someone needs to flag this guy now, before another site tries to steal him. I smell "Recruiting Guru" all over him.

My bad. I was just looking at them being able to get around 25 this year. However, they are so close in points they will still pass us up. I don't feel like finishing above them proves anything, especially if we sign more people. I just don't want to have recruits commit to us and then change to them on signing day. We can't afford to be short and I think LK isn't above doing that. The worst part of that, even above football, is that he is keeping a kid from getting a free education.

USC can only give 14 scollies for this recruiting year. Since they already have 14 committments they can't take anymore unless they {1} pull some previous offers which won't go over very well, {2} get some players to come as walk-ons or {3} get some players to come as "gray shirts". BTW, USC will not permit their coaches to recruit unqualified kids with intentions of placing them in JUCOs.

... I think this post makes a lot of sense...but we are all guessing and won't know squat until NSD. So far I am very pleased with Coach Dooley's efforts and demeanor (not surprised his Dad is and was a class act).
