RB Superhero?

I just want us to have a monster RB.

Some big angry beast that can stomp over any defender that gets in his way and break away speed.

A strong passing game would help our RBs show off big time this year.

This is more realistic on what you should be hoping for, imo

Does D. Young get a shot at RB ? Or do you think he will take the sweeps instead of Neal?

I think Neal should be the guy taking sweeps because of his straight line speed.
D. Young would be great for screens because of his shiftyness. Very quick, not the fastest guy though

I don't think so. Marlin should be 100% this year, he wasn't last year. I think he'll have a big season

Don't disagree about that, I'm talking behind Lane. I think he has the most pure talent after Lane.

My guess is Lane and Neal will get the bulk of the carries this season.
Obviously, that could change if Bourque comes in and sets the world on fire. And its rare that a freshman rb does that

Then it may surprise you to learn that in UT's indoor 2012 track season Young's best time beat Neal at 60m. In fact the only guy on the whole UT track team with a faster 60m was Jamol James.

Thats good to know. Maybe Young has gotten faster since last year, cause i remember seeing that Neal was the fastest guy on the team.

No matter how fast Young is, i'd be willing to bet that Neal is faster in helmet and full pads.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Neal start over Lane. Wouldn't bet on it, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Neal did seem faster, with pads, than Young did.

That word carries a lot of water. In truth how fast people "seem" to be in the confines of playing a game can be deceiving as hell. It's kinda like you can see one lineman whipping another and swear the one guy must be a lot stronger only to find out the weaker "looking" guy can beat the other at any lift they tried.

At any rate it's really not a huge thing about which is faster but rather while lots of people accept without issue that Neal is fast there's a strange dearth of understanding how fast Young is.

Ah yes but the eye test counts for a good bit.

And for whatever underlying factors that may exist, Devrin Young was caught many times last year by defenders who didn't necessarily have great angles on him, especially at the end of the season.

A strong run game would help our WR show off big time this year.

Good luck with that. Jamal Lewis and Travis Henry are nowhere to be found on our current roster.

I know we shouldn't get to fancy but I liked the shuffle pass we did last year in the LSU game to D. Young. That was one of my favorite plays this year and there were not many.

One of these guys will become the "man". But having some versatile options to confuse the defense is a huge +. DD seems a little more settled as well and that will help shape the overall focus of the team. Good things ahead with just a little greatness sprinkled in for the future.

I think Q Davis will turn some heads in the Fall. Neal is supposed to be moved back to RB full time, if I heard CDD right.

I'm excited about Bourque, kid is a big power back. Something we've needed for a while. That said I think the depth chart by season will be: Neal, Lane, Bourque, Smith. Yes Neal is the best back we have.

I gotta say Neal is the best back we got as well. Lane is going to be a great quality back up. I pray our O line shows up this year
