If we don't sign a stud RB, do anyone think Vereen will go back to RB? I remember reading reports he was a beast as a freshman but the position is too deep? Just thought about it and didn't know which thread to put it on? Sorry but still want to hear thoughts about it!

Imagine if you could pull scholarships like the NFL waive players? Hope he get a degree because it seems like FB is over as far as playing.

Poole won't be here next year. Williams just blew out his knee. Oku may not be able to run between the tackles in the SEC. Bryce has a nagging hip injury as it is. We HAVE to get a RB in this class...

Is Poole gone? The Ensworth (Darkwa?) interested or we interested in him? What about the Melrose back and S. Panola man-child? Are we interested in them?

I'm not saying he's a true RB, but we're getting Channing Fugate. He seems like he could be easily converted to several positions including RB.

Darkwa- we are interested, but he is a fallback option. Gran likes him alot...
Watson- not interested...
Parker- we are pretty interested in him but he may not have the grades...
Poole- not gone yet, but I don't think there's anyway he is a Vol next year...

If we do not sign a back he might stay but I think we land one we want.

Oku will be a fine back. He has the ability to run in a zone blocking scheme. Obviously you scheme to his strengths, but he is definitely a guy that can run straight up the middle if the holes are there.

Bryce better do something about his hip this off-season or he will never live up to his potential.

He should be ok. From what limited information is out there about his hip, it sounds like it is nothing that a few weeks off in Jan along with some rehab can't handle. I am sure that the treatment portion has been a daily thing for him this season, but some injuries like this can only fully heal with some rest to go along with it.

I really don't think Poole will be a Vol regardless of what happens...

The hip is more of a nagging injury and flares up at random times. I think he was first injured when he was a sophmore in high school. He needs surgery for it to fully heal...

I think he will too, but nothing is for sure...

LV where are you hearing that about the hip? I heard all 4 MRIs show that it may not need surgery at all.

Once it is flaring it gets worse and worse. Rehab and some specific work will help from what I understand.

He has an MRI in August and it showed no structural damage.

Given that, you are more likely looking at bursitis (which best fits the description), a hip pointer, or IT Band Syndrome. Surgery is a possibility for bursitis, but it is rare and a last resort.

That is just what the main guy on VSPN radio said. From what I remember, Bryce told him that surgery is the only thing that would ever heal it fully. I really have no idea what the injury is or anything...

It's cool. My profession is Athletic Training, so I was speculating based on what information that has been put out there by CLK and Bryce. Without having more info, it is hard to narrow it down to much. Guess we can all just hope that it heal without surgery after the season. UT has a top notch staff in term of AT, so I am not to concerned.

I know a lot of guys aren't the same after they injure a knee, but if Williams gets back to where he was in the spring, Our RB depth will be insane.
