RB coach

There is a graduate assistant who I believe does most of the coaching of running backs. He was Dooley's RB coach at LA Tech. Not sure how much help he may get from others.

Whoever it is has done a good job in the last couple of weeks IMO

I wonder... just wonder... if it had anything to do with Simms in as QB.. I've heard he's better at getting the O into better plays but judging by some of the decisions he's made lately.. idk.. I guess we will see this weekend...

We need a RB coach with strong ties in Atlanta like Jamal Lewis or Jabari Davis I think they would kill it on the recruiting of Atl Metro area

I think that probably had something to do with it and maybe the LSU game gave Poole a little more confidence going into the Bama game.. Whatever the cause, Poole ran like a mad man Saturday.

Isn't Jay Graham RB coach at S Carolina? I would like to see a former Vol great like him on the staff (again) though I realize the Chuck Smith experiment didn't work out.

Bologna.

Another thing that is different is the aggressiveness of Tauren Poole. When I watched him run the ball against Bama I could picture him screaming a warrior cry as he hit the hole. He looked mean

watch the film
that is why Rivera diappeared against LSU and had limited success against Bama
he was in blocking ...and does a pretty good job
-
the success of running in the SEC is in the power run game ...not in the fun and gun style with draws and misdirection that they came into the season with
-
Poole did not get 'bad' from last season to this. The schemes changed to a passer friendly system that keeps 5 in to block on most plays. When they go 6 to block ...they seem to be able to get it done.

Venom has worked at camps with Jabari in GA. I am pretty sure that he is more connected down there than you are giving him credit for.

I didn't make myself clear. I agree with what you are saying and have said regarding our running game. I'm just saying Poole ran harder against Alabama than he has all season.

I agree with that ...I think he found some mojo against LSU .

would definately like to see the coaches stay with the power game when Bray and Hunter are back next year

It will do alot to win time of possession and keep the defense off the field .

NCAA Article 11: Conduct and Employment of Athletics Personnel:

11.7.2 Football Bowl Subdivision - There shall be a limit of one head coach, nine assistant coaches and two graduate assistant coaches who may be employed by an institution in bowl subdivision football.

- Hope that helps explain why we don't have an RB coach.

do we not have a rb coach? i heard it was a graduate asst.

it is a GA. Chino Fontenette coaches the running backs. that is because Chaney doesn't have position to coach, just be the OC and the other 4 coaches have position groups to coach.

Something will have to happen after this season because Chino can't come back as a GA. TO hire a fulltime RB coach, then someone has to leave the staff.

no one has any idea who might leave on their own or Dooley forcing. Right now, no talk at all of anyone leaving or being replaced. In that case, he would have to get another GA to man RB position or Chaney take fulltime. Been many years since Chaney had RBs.

we have a head coach and 8 asst. coaches and 2 GAs and everyone has head coach and 9 asst. coaches 2 GAs, like it says in NCAA Article 11: Conduct and Employment of Athletics Personnel, so i dont see why we cant hire a rb coach
