I know im stating the obvious and love my vols but this has gotten ridiculous since we landed Brown and Oku. Graham is a great coach but hasn't shown the Marcus Lattimore recruiter I expected. Don't get me wrong were lucky to have him and I know he's a good recruiter just aggrevating we can't land the big time RB we need. Seems were always one step behind like Green. Were in desperate need of a winning season and bowl win

Can we give the staff turnover a chance to settle down before we blame CJG for not landing Green? Ridiculous. Come on man.

I hear from an unnamed source on another site that we backed off him at the last minute so he picked Michigan...rumor but heard we didn't think that haircut would fly up in the K Town...

Yea def overreacting, CJG has been here one year, and with the coaching change it was a miracle we even came as close as we did. Without CJG we prob wouldn't have even been in the top 5.

Coach Graham's credentials don't need to be questioned at this point. If we didn't have him we probably wouldn't have even been in the conversation for Green

Agreed to a large extent, but for crying out loud, we're in desperate need to a stud running back for 2 years now and we got bubkus.... I'm all for giving CJG benefit of the doubt but sooner or later ......

Winning is the cure all. Some people need to face reality of where this program is before blaming others.

Amen Brother !!!! Some people on this board really expect us to get the blue chippers with our terrible record over the last 3 or 4 years. No way !!!!!! Until we prove ourselves on the field, we will have to be satisfied with leftovers !

In my opion I think the reason some of these running backs are not interested in us this year besides new coaches, is the system we are going to run own offense. If you really thank about it when was the last time you seen a running back in a spread system in the s.e.c do well in the pros?

Really don't think the spread is a factor at all. It has to do with the lack of winning and a brand new staff. Heck, Green picked Michigan, and they run a type of spread. Lattimore and USC ran a lot of zone read and a type of spread. Pead is in the NFL, and he was with Jones at UC. JMO.

Well, Frank Gore is handling it well with San Fran. He has not been a spread guy in the past, but is enjoying the fruits of it now. Our O-line will be one of the best in the country next year. Doesnt matter what system. Good line and coaching should produce big numbers. Tired of hearing about the spread, etc. Pros are using it as well. It's all about match ups and the spread provides skill players space and good match ups. Spread doubters need to learn more about the sport and trends. If it did not work, people would continue to run 3 yds and a cloud of dust.

i don't care how many stars a recruit comes in with. I'm much more interested to see how this coaching staff coaches our players. we've had plenty of 4 and 5 star players that didn't amount to anything. forget about Green and start buying stock in our coaching staff.

Michigan iS going back to the pro set.I'm talking about long term in the pros. I can't think of any running back in the s.e.c that was in a spread system having sucess in the pros.

I am also interested to see how well this staff coaches the players. Recruiting aside, w/o great coaching you're not going to win big.
Now that said, there is nothing that prohibits having great coaching and great recruits. It's not an "either-or" situation.
