from the Tennessean:

To the Editor:
After reading the letter, “Is it time for a new head coach at UT?” Oct. 23, I just had to reply. I live in Tennessee now, but was born and raised in Arkansas, and I’m still an Arkansas Razorback fan. Most years, they never come close to a winning season, but I’m proud of their spirit.
Tennesseans should be proud to back their football coach and team. There is nothing embarrassing about them. The Vols’ overall win-loss record says they are a good football team.
I have only two words to say to Alton Binkley’s letter to the editor: “Fulmer forever!”

Nutt will likely be fired at the end of the year. I wonder if he tells his fellow Arkansas fans to keep Nutt?

well, it's all relative. if comparing CPF to CHN's resume, i can see it.

on a sidenote, on the radio in Charlotte they are debating whether or not ARK will make a push to get BUtch Davis to leave Chapel Hill for Fayetteville if Nutt is axed.

Raleigh News and Observer reported today that there's not out in Davis' contract to leave for Ark. That would be a very expensive buyout, I believe. I like having Butch here - I've grown to be somewhat of a UNC fan living 8 miles down the road. I want him to stay...unless he wants to coach at UT, of course. Then I'm all for it.

I wonder how it feels as a coach to know that people are talking about replacing you; you might be without a job next season, and will possibly have to take a several million dollar settlement.

there are only a handful of coaches not being talked about that way. Most were considered safe before the season began

heck, I figured you, beef, 95 or Orange Square wrote the letter.

You cannot be more wrong than you are now. I have NEVER said CPF or any coach forever. The difference in you and I is that I use logic, thought and common sense to come to my decisions. You sir use knee jerk emotions.

Duh. Look at the Standards for Arkansas Football versus UT Standards. Safe to assume that UT his higher Standards than Arkansas. Maybe they will fire Nutt and hire Fulmer. I would venture to say that this is not a consensus Arkansas opinion.

pj, you are probably one of the most insulting posters on this board. Take a few minutes to review your past posts. At least half of them are cheap shots at other posters who are expressing discontent with the present staff/state of the program.

beef, my opinion of Phil is based on the record since '98 including the lack of championships. What are your opinions based on? I rest my case.

oh, so that's why......thanks for clearing that up.:)

I know. Right after posting that I was wondering why I was wearing the captain obvious costume.

Still, I feel for coaches who are poorly paid and still have to deal with heaps of pressure. But someone who makes $2 mil+ a year, I don't worry for them. They know what they're getting into.

I take offense only when people take personal shots. So sorry it's hard for you to tell the difference. Taking shots at their abilities is fine but not the person themselves. And VH,
