My husband and I are going. It is a surprise birthday present. He thinks we are flying to Iowa to go to the John Wayne museum and I am not telling him until we get to the airport. My tickets are in transit...section 15 row 37. I think that is near the other vol fans and I think 37 is the back row of the bottom section. We are staying in Santa Monica and leaving on the 28th. I am excited to be going.

who knew? there actually is something in Iowa that's worth going to see

While my husband is a big John Wayne fan, he is not thinking it is worth a trip to see a museum about him. He is not really excited about the trip but is trying to act like he is so as not to disappoint me. He wont know that we are not going to Iowa until we get to the gate that says LA on it. It is going to be a great surprise. Now Tennessee has to do their part and win.:crossfingers:

Don't kid yourself. I've been to UT games at the Rose Bowl in the 90's, and the UT contingent there will be very small in comparison to the number of UCLA fans.

I did two, twice. Both times local press reports said we had 10,000 there, and it looked it to me.

1990s was probably pre-Southwest Airlines with the relatively inexpensive cross country flights. I'm still hearing lots of folks say that they are not making the trip due to having been to Cal last year and/or general pessimism re: the economy.

Flying four from BNA to LAX, adding five more to our party once there. m for a total of nine orange clad lunatics. Well, at least one lunatic and my family.

Yeah but one Vol fan = about 5 Bruin fans COMBINED in terms of passion for the team and knowledge of the game.

They're a basketball school, and only get fired up when it's time to throw a monkeywrench in USC's plans. :realmad:

I know tons of Bruin fans who are very excited about the season. I don't think anyone is expecting miracles like a BCS bowl or anything. Most are being very realistic in their expectations. But that doesn't mean they aren't excited about the season.

That doesn't mean we're not out there...you just don't know us!
It doesn't matter how good your players are if you don't have the coaching staff...this year we finally have the staff. Night and day compared to last year. Nowhere to go but up!

maybe you do, maybe you don't. chow didn't start winning heismans at SC until carroll forced him to change the offense. and we all know slick rick has problems performing with his own players. time will tell. and your great years came primarily when oregon, ASU, and cal were in the toilet. lots of competition for recruits that didn't exist 20 years ago.

picture I snapped from Cal Game. Id assume we get a few more because of some excitement of the clawfense. As well as better tourist spots that SO Cal preseants over NorCal.

Given the choice, I prefer Northern Cal over Southern and it isn't even close.

Please clarify the question. Are you looking at the ratio at kickoff or after halftime? They could be totally different.

:birgits_giggle: I am hoping we all know the answer to the latter.

Anyone else brining their car flags for the rental car? I haven't decided yet.
