Rashaan Gaulden blasts Kirk Herbstreit for hypocrisy

Looks like a non apology, apology

What else do u want him to do? About to get stomped by the social justice warriors for picking on a black kid while forgiving a white kid. Forget the fact that one was disrespected at a ceremonial handshake and had several cheap shot on him the whole game. Its all about racism to these idiots and they would have swallowed what remains of herbys career. I can see his point and I can understand the apology. Move on

This is easily explained. Herby didn't think there would be a single Vol or Vol fan paying attention to the Hypesman vote. When was the vote? Who won?......

When you make a mistake it’s important to own it. @Gmoney_7era is 100% right and I apologize to him. Was more disappointed that day w/ Tennessee’s lack of discipline as a team and this was my breaking point. Unfair to Rashaan. I’m sorry. I’m glad you pointed this out man.Kirk Herbstreit added,
Tennessean

I'll throw him some respect for owning his hypocrisy.

Most just ignore it getting pointed out until the next big story hits and the collective ADD of the public kicks in and forgets this issue.

The conversation between Pruitt and Gaulden should be interesting to say the least since Pruitt was on the other sideline that day.

in douchebaggery, Herbstreit > Fowler now.

edit. I retract this^^^. to my knowledge, Fowler has never apologized. he's still a bigger douchenozzle.

Herbie did apologize in his tweet. What is being copied on here is only part of the whole tweet. I don't have a twitter account, but maybe someone who does could copy and paste the entire tweet.

Glad Rashaan called him out. Herbie also blasted us for running off Schiano and said no quality coach would come here, then praised us when we landed JP. He flip flops more than a marlin on a boat deck.

I don't have one either, it's not necessary. Here's a working link:

Props to him for owning it. Like I said earlier, it was all valid until he acted like Gaulden should be kicked off the team.

How crazy is it that in this day and age all this can blow up and get an apology from a national media guy within just a few hours?

Don't mess with Tennessee Twitter.
Major props to him for his apology.

OP posted this before Herb got around to an apology.

There is a post earlier in this thread that stated Vol fans should get on Herbstreits twitter and call him out on what he said.

They did, and that is what led to the apology.

Great article! Glad to see Gaulden getting some love for his competitive spirit from the national media! Karma is paying a visit to ole' Kirk.:D

The way he bounced off that wall makes me think the Heisman went to the wrong player....

Hell of a sack by Leo. :eek:hmy:

There's been a bit of a revolt by former Heisman winners over the way the Heisman Board/Trust (whatever) does things. Articles are easy to find.

It has definitely lost it's luster.

Herbstreit and Fowler are un-listenable. Fowlers fake excited voice on a big play, and Herbie with his fake tan and expert on everything. I know enough about football to watch with the sound down and listen to Pink Floyd, or Sons of the Pioneers.

Kirk is a clown. Discipline was necessary for both but kicking Gaulden off the team for that is ridiculous. Character is not a prerequisite for the Heisman. Baker is the darling of college football pundits. Tennessee is easy to target lately. Kirk couldn't fight the urge to be irrational and hypocritical. It's ok Kirk...we will be back up top soon and you'll have to eat your words.
