What blows my mind is how does texas and Wisconsin go from being unranked to #10 and #11??
If you're seriously asking, going into week one the voters have the least amount of info to go on. Compare this to the last poll when you have 12-15 games to go on. The voters didn't know how Texas would look with a freshman QB or if their players have finally bought in to Charlie Strong. He came out slinging the ball accurately and it appears Charlie Strong's players have bought in. Those 2 unknowns became knowns so the pollsters moved them up.
Compare that to UT, we returned the most experienced O-line in the SEC and a QB who made electric plays with his legs. After our 1st game our O-line looked weak and Dobbs made more mistakes than big plays. Those 2 things that the voters thought were knowns became unknowns
