Ranking of fired SEC coaches

Butch won 34 games in 5 seasons

Dooley and Pruitt combined for 31 wins in 6 seasons.

Butch had 14 SEC wins, the dynamic duo combined for 14. Considering Butch had the only 8 loss SEC season in history, this shows how incredibly bad the other two were.

I can't stand Butch, but he was head and shoulders better than the other two morons.

Dools won 4 conference games in 3 seasons lolol. He could have had 5 if only he could have contained a 3rd string WR playing QB.

I'd go:

14. Butch. Worse than Pruitt IMO. Did less with even more talent. Only success was due to Josh Dobbs. Let the S&C program (and the overall program) fall apart. Good salesman, but couldn't coach for crap.
13. Pruitt. Crap, but he did honestly try to build a real foundation and recruited well. He just wasn't meant to be an HC. Also screwed the offense and kept JG in when anyone and everyone could see that was the wrong decision.
12. Muschamp. I don't understand how he landed the SC job to begin with. He underperformed with top talent at Florida. Some of the worst offenses ever based on talent level.
11. Sumlin. Outside of Johnny Football, what did he do? Bombed at Arizona as well against weaker competition.

10. McElwain. I was delighted the day he was hired; I hoped Florida would keep him for a few more years. He's not a bad coach; but just not SEC-level.
9. Chad Morris. Not as bad as perceived, but still made a lot of mistakes. But he should've never taken the job. His offense was almost the exact opposite as Bielema's.
8. Orgeron. Don't care that he has a national title, he's not a good coach, and LSU is an easy job.
7. Bielema. His time at Wisconsin seems like an aberration, though, he did OK in his 1st year at Illinois.
6. Mason. I don't think he was a bad HC, but Vandy is a tough job.

5. Odom. Not bad. Not great.
4. Matt Luke. Was hired as a sacrificial lamb and honestly did better than expected. No one would've succeeded in his situation.
3. Joe Moorhead. Bad fit at Miss State. Like Chad Morris, should've never taken the job. It'll be interesting to see how he fares at Akron.
2. Gus Malzahn. He was never a bad coach. Just wildly inconsistent and couldn't develop QBs.
1. Dan Mullen. I'm still not 100% sure that firing Mullen was the right thing to do, but he certainly deserved to be fired after the mess last season. But his long-term track record is much better than that.
