14. Tennessee — 34.5 points

  • Good Luck, Mate: Alabama
  • Getting Tougher: at Georgia, at Texas A&M, Florida
  • Middle of the Pack: at Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech (Bristol, Tenn.)
  • Beatable: at South Carolina, Kentucky, Missouri
  • Cupcakes: Appalachian State, Ohio, Tennessee Tech
Analysis: As if Tennessee fans needed another reason to feel good this season. The Vols will need make it through a brutal four-game stretch against Florida, Georgia, A&M and Alabama with at least two wins, but if they do, little else would prevent them from securing 10 victories and the SEC East crown. UT’s two toughest games are at home (Alabama/Florida), Virginia Tech is rebuilding and the remaining non-conference schedule is a cakewalk. Compared to some other SEC teams, Butch Jones & Co. have a yellow-brick road to Atlanta this fall.

Well there you go I guess. It looks like the stars have finally aligned. We just got to finish games and not up this season.

Go Vols

We haven't been this close since 2001. This really could be the season we have longed for Nation. It's been a tough road but that city on a hill in finally in sight.

We make it out of the Florida, UGA, TAMU, and Bama games at least 3-1 we win the east and go to Atlanta. At worst we should go 2-2 in that stretch.

How the hell do they figure Vandy is a "middle of the pack" team and not either "beatable" or a "cupcake"? What am I missing here?

I LOL'd at that, too. By their criteria they listed Vandy as capable of a winning season or making a bowl.:loco:

Shouldnt they have switched Vandy and UK? I don't follow the offseason of most of our opponents especially those who aren't as likely to cause problems, but what I've heard has put UK in a better position than Vandy I thought.

I still find it odd they rate UT's schedule so low. VT is no Oregon or Oklahoma, but still.

With Kirby at UGA and McElwain at Florida, B Jones days at UT are numbered...

I really don't see McElwain going over Butch Jones this year and honestly don't see Kirby Smart pulling off a victory either. Any thoughts on this?

If we go 6-2 in the league with a loss to Georgia, that would mean that Uga has to go 5-3 for us to win the East.

I listened to some talking heads discussing this a month or two ago. They explained our SOS of 35, saying it is due to our two toughest games, UF and UA, being in Knoxville.

Who's got bama losing to USC?

I may I need to see the spread the morning of, SC always has the talent. I'm not convinced the staff they have on hand is the real deal. Hayden hired the guy and then left as AD, never a good sign, when an incoming AD has to deal with a guy not his own and sort of unproven at a program as storied as USC. I went there for a semester back in the day, which was all it took for my funds to dry up, so after the Vols I tend to pull for the Trojans.

We don't have to play the most experience team in the SEC, since we are the most experienced team in the SEC. We are a circle game for everyone on our schedule.
