Really, you think so? I've lived in SC since the mid-eighties, and although they are rabid in the stadium, I've found them to be fairly docile out in public. I always figured it was because, deep down, they know where they really belong in the pecking order.

I lived in Columbia for 4 1/2 years, heard SC fans refer to their team as the “lamecocks“ or even “shamecocks.” Can’t remember a Tennessee fan doing something similar.

Gamecocks. I've been to a lot of stadiums and can testify that gamechickens are the worst azzhole sumbeaches you can ever be around, and no amount of Tennessee liquor will help you tolerate them.

And the nonstop rooster crowing will drive you insane. They are cocky and have no reason to be. In the history of their program they have one ACC title from 1965. Vandy has more to brag about. At least they have high academic standards and Nattys from the early 20th century

no way. clemson fans are way worst than SC fans. ive lived in ga for the past 17 years and the uga fans are by far the most annoying fan base. most of them can't tell you who the starting qb is, but love to tell me how much tennessee sucks anytime i'm out and about. SC fans are fun and know that they have it good every three or four years, but most of the ones i've been around just love to have a good time, want to have a winning record, and hate the "school upstate" and the dawgs. ive been to williams-brice three times and had great times. the worst fans ive experienced are the gator fans. i went to gaineville with a buddy who is a gator fan and a stranger spat on him for being there with me. insanity.

These personal lists always seem to come down to personal experiences. It is always interesting to see different reasons for why one dislikes a fanbase.

Like for me, I've never had a bad interaction with Georgia fans.

Bama fans are arrogant. Florida fans are mouthy.

But my interactions with South Carolina fans are the only time I've had to fight the urge not to get arrested. They are horrible, and it has happened more than once. And I'm a pretty chill dude, I don't get into the whole trash talking thing.
