Ranking and strength of schedule

Too much is based on what happened last year when the preseason poll is voted on. Typically you don’t drop unless you lose. Alabama, Georgia, and Ohio State will be at the top to protect them as playoff contenders.

Any pre season or poll before week 3-4 is useless as we have seen this year. Shouldn't have polls out until week 3 at least, that way things play out

I think most people were waiting to see if the Vols are real, some Vols fans included. Now that we see the Vols are back, I wouldn’t be surprised if there is some movement in the polls tomorrow. A few teams ranked ahead of us aren’t exactly playing their best football.

I asked a different version of this question earlier: when is the last time we notched 3 Top 25 wins before the end of October??

They wouldn’t. UGA would be #1, OSU #2, they’d give Michigan #3 for beating PSU, and then it’d be anyone’s guess if #4 is us, Clemson, or an undefeated USC lol.

We will have to win out to get to #1. Nothing will ever be good enough.

USC and Clemson gonna have to struggle bad for Vols to move into top 5. OSU, UGA, Mich and probably Bama taking care of business and won’t move from top 4.

Not a single one of those teams has a tougher schedule than us and more quality wins thus far.
