Rank the SEC

Once again, Tennessee doesn't deserve to be above 13th until we actually win a conference game. Chances are we're going to be 0-4 in conference play barring a major upset. I don't think that's being negative. Just realistic. You want to put UK at 13th and call them a pretender, well right now they're second in the SEC East. They're better than the 13th ranked team in the conference. Having UT above anything other than at the very highest 11th or 12th is being an extreme homer, which I guess is fine but not realistic. UK's win vs. South Carolina is better than any win we have. South Carolina's win vs. Georgia is better than any win we we have. Fact.

GoBears, what has UT done to be ranked above Kentucky and South Carolina?

UK has played the **** SECe teams and played a bad FL with a good game (much like the Ark/Bama game, both played a terrible game which meant the better talent pulled through).

1. MISS
2. MISS ST
3. AUB
4. ALA
5. LSU
6. ARK
6. TN
8. A&M
9. UGA (No Gurley)
10. FL
10. UK
12. MIZZOU
13. USC
14. VANDY

ARK and TN are tied because they both have shown excellent defensive play but poor O Play. TN needs an OLine and Ark needs a good passing game (their run game seems pretty good though). If they combined what they had on O, the resulting team might be 1-3 in the SEC

most of the SEC East is horrid (TN won't win SEC east, but the CURRENT state of the remaining East teams puts TN on top. No Gurley for UGA and no Harris for FL would have us sitting at 5-1 instead of 3-3 right now).

LSU is a wildcard to me atm and I think they'll pull something through

A&M is ranked below TN/ARK because they light up terrible Ds but get stomped by good ones, which both TN/ARK have demonstrated to have. This board underestimates Tennessee's defense in the rankings I've seen. One bad game shouldn't be the measuring stick to how we are (since they're using the FL game as an example obviously)

EDIT: after further thought I have decided to move UK to be tied with FL. I like UK and I hope that the rivalry heats up because it's a pretty old rivalry and it sucks to see one die down.

Yall have no respect for UK and theyve already locked up a bowl game. Were still hoping to get as many wins. Mizz looks horrible and vandy is even worse. Dont just assume we beat anybody. Most everybody on this site just knew we would beat UF. Lets hope we can get an upset of somebody (ole miss) to give our guys a little more confidence moving forward.

1. Alabama
2. Auburn
3. Mississippi
4. Miss State
5. Texas A&M
6. Florida
7. LSU
8. Arkansas
9. Georgia
10. Tennessee
11. S Carolina
12. Missouri
13. Kentucky
14. Vanderbilt

This is the answer, unimpeachable and true . . .

unless Saturday proves me wrong.

Saturday proved me wrong.

The top is very close, so I'll add a numerical power rating:

1. Alabama = 100
2. Mississippi = 99
3. Auburn = 97
4. Miss State = 96
5. Texas A&M =89
6. LSU = 87
7. Florida = 84
8. Arkansas = 82
9. Georgia = 81
10. Tennessee = 79
11. Missouri = 77
12. Kentucky = 76.75
13. S Carolina = 76.5
14. Vanderbilt = 53

If we can survive the next two weeks with catastrophic injury we'll play the 4 worst SEC teams right now.

Hopefully we can win 3 of those and go bowling again.

Kentucky's has beat one team really, a USCe at its low-water mark. Let's not roll out the fanfare yet. Either Arkansas State or Utah State, maybe both, would have beat them if they played both.

Also, they need another win to secure a bowl. I don't see it unless they get it @ Mizzou to go 6-6. I think they'll go 5-7, which is a huge improvement over 2-10.

vs. UTMartin W 14 - 59
vs. Ohio W 3 - 20
@ Florida L 30 - 36
vs.Vanderbilt W 7 - 17
vs. South Carolina W 38 - 45
vs. Louisiana-Monroe W 14 - 48
@ LSU
vs. Mississippi State
@ Missouri
vs. Georgia
@ Tennessee
@ Louisville

Kentucky isn't going to lose out. They'll find a way to get 1 or 2 more wins and into bowl season.

3. Auburn
4. Bama
5. Texas A&M "But as a coach you have to be honest with your schemes, yourself." - Kevin Sumlin

RED teams are those that would or already have beat us.

Black teams are "we might beat them if we play well."

Green is a should win.

Yes I think we are the 3rd best team in the east ( better than Florida).

We're better than the Florida team that just came into Neyland and beat us straight up? Wut?

What i was basically tryin to say is that as of this moment, as bad as it hurts to say, on paper and record wise, kentucky is better than us. In just 2 yrs, stoops has brought talent and made them more competitive. Just sayin..

We have more talent. They have some older guys left which is a help . . .

But we would be 5-1 with their schedule, so I really don't get the point.

They are a 5-7, 6-6 kind of team even with that weak schedule.

I hope they give LSU hell this weekend, though, and prove me wrong. I'd rather beat a one loss Kentucky in Neyland than a team on the slide.

1. Miss St. (Complete team, wins west)
2. Ole Miss (hard to argue with Good Bo)
3. Alabama (ain't done yet, Iron bowl still matters)
4. Auburn (ain't done yet either, iron bowl winner is ok)
5. Georgia (With Gurley they'd be #3)
6. Texas A&M (exposed D, but has strong offense)
7. Arkansas (remarkable jump from end of last season)
8. Tennessee (yes I honestly believe we better than 9-14)
9. LSU (as we saw, was a pick & fg out of 10th)
10. Florida (yes, they are turrible)
11. South Carolina (loses to UK, ECU? OMG!)
12. Mizzou (did you see what UGA did to them?)
13. Kentucky (still pretending until they beat somebody)
14. Vandy (that was easy)

IMHO. I know that you think #8 is high, but I honestly believe UT is better and can beat 9-14 on a neutral field, barring any injury to our starters.

We lost to Florida at home so how would a neutral field help us exactly? Quit being a homer and be realistic. We aren't in the top 10 of the SEC this year

How on God's beautiful green earth do you have UGA at 9 behind a&m, LSU and Florida???? The rest of this lost credibility at that point.

Sorry, Dawg. If you guys beat Arkansas this week I'll be happy to reevaluate, but as of now your resume includes:

2 good wins against so-so teams (Clemson & Mizzou)
1 horrible loss (SC)
1 escape you were lucky to get (TN)
2 sleepers (Vandy & Troy)

Not impressive.
