In my growing up years it was Bama, Auburn, Kentucky & Vandy.

UT's 1st SEC game was always Auburn when I was growing up. In 1988, UT opened with UGA which broke that streak, I think.

Beginning in 1990, with Spurrier's success at Duke (who beat UT) returning to UF that became a big game instantly. Who knew in 1990 that UT and UF would play every year? Prior to the split divisions, UT didn't play UGA or UF very often. UT played:

Auburn
Bama
Ole Miss
UK
Vandy
Rotating opponent: UF, UGA, Miss St., LSU

Ive hated Florida from the instance I started watching the Vols. I will always hate them. Bama is getting up there for me but my hate for Florida is probably unrivaled.

Back in the 80's it was Bama. The 90's it was beat the gators first to have a chance, then beat Bama .( chance I mean national championship ). In my opinion we had to beat the gators first then take care of Bama . But in my heart it's Bama .

In the 1st part of the 90's UT had to beat UGA 1st. That was a big 1-2 to start the conference season.

Its always been the gators for me. Hate'm with a passion. Bama is moving up quick tho. Only thing worse than a gator is a gator fan.

For me it has always been
1. Florida (because we always battled for the east with them)
2. Georgia (because I live near and know so many Georgia fans)

But here recently I've had a renewed hated for Alabama. I'm not really old enough to remember the old days with Bama but here recently I've come in contact with more and more Bammers and I can't stand them! Can't wait until the decline like all teams eventually do.

Bama is absolutely Tennessee's biggest and most hated rival period. I'm 27 and my opinion why SOME guys my age or younger hate florida more is because by the time we play Bama we have usually already lost to the gators (a couple guys touched on this). My daddy raised me to hate Bama and since i grew up in giles county i had a lot of tide fans around town who made it a personal thing. So thats my two pennies.

1. Bama - Hate Bama first always
2. Florida - They have owned us for the past 20 years
4. Georgia - I grew up in Atlanta (sister UGA grad) and just hate UGA fans. They think they are better than they are and their program historically is better than it actually is.
5. South Carolina - Recent thorn in our a$$ and have to start beating them again regularly to get back to the top.

Alabama has always been and always will be the biggest rival. However every one of our east division opponents are bigger games because of their effect on the division standings.

Florida doesn't even care about Tennessee.

Their rivals are FSU, Georgia, Miami, and Auburn (historically).

The two teams that gets my blood to boiling is Bama and Fla. If we lost every gm and only beat them two I would be happy

5. UK (not a rivalry IMO, but always fun to beat because this time every year the UK fans start saying this is the year)
