Where would you put Neyland in places you dont want to have to play at as an opponent. I know our home record as of late could be better but where do you put us?

1. LSU-
2. Michigan-size
3. Swamp- because they play well there and its loud
4. Tenn- Go Vols
5. ND- tradition

i wouldn't want to play at LSU, UF, or UT, but notre dame isn't intimidating at all to me. i have been there twice and there wasn't really anything loud or intimidating about it. i haven't been to michigan's, so i can't say anything.

I wouldn't even put Michigan in the top 5. It may be the biggest in terms of seating capacity, but the way it's laid out doesn't make it that intimidating and doesn't hold in the noise like Neyland and others. There are 75,000 seat stadiums that get louder than Michigan.

The best stadiums in the country are in the SEC.
1. LSU- Death Valley gets crazy at night with their white jerseys on-unbeatable
2. Florida- The Swamp is extremely noisy and they win their.
3. Tennessee- Still the loudest and biggest, but lost a bit of its intimidation because of key losses here.
4. Georgia- It is difficult to beat the Dawgs between the hedges (except for UT).
5. Boise State- Don they have the longest active home win streak here? And they play on blue freakin turf.

Yea, I was thinking favorite stadiums, not toughest places to play. Neyland not very tough to play right now, but number 1 on my list of favorite stadiums.

I totally agree. It is a fact we haven't been a tough place to play. We have exactly two big wins in Neyland in this century. Florida in '04 and Cal last year. Every other top 15 team has come in and beat us in Neyland. Our best wins have come on the road...........

Fla '01
Fla '03
Miami '03
Georgia '04, '06
Bama '01,'03

Everyone is missing the obvious answer: THE FREAKING GEORGIA DOME. The only reason I want to play there ever again is because it is the SECCG. Other than that, we haven't won there since 1998, right? (without checking I think that is right).

Also, LSU and the swamp are up there. I don't care much for playing between the hedges either. I probably wouldn't want to play in a few others as well, just for the sheer fan base: Michigan, Texas, Ohio State.

Notre Dame isn't threatening.

Lou Holtze once said that one of the toughest places to play was Duke (in theory, I guess). It makes sense. It's hard to get up for a game when there's 5,000 people sitting in the stands and you hear the golf clap after each score.

For what it is worth, one of my best friends in college played for Vandy and went to every SEC stadium of note as a player except Auburn. His opinion was that LSU was the toughest place to play, followed by Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee in a virtual tie.

Keep in mind that this was Vandy at a time when LSU hated the Dores do to the Dinardo bolt-and-sue situation, so it is very possible that the Tiger fans were more enthusiastic about playing VU than any of the big dogs in the East.

I also have a few friends who played in the SEC east, and according to them LSU was the most intimidating hands down. One actually still has nightmares about the caged tiger, and he is 6'7" and weighs about 320.

I'm pretty sure he was more afraid of some of the resident merry makers than he was of the Tiger. Evidently, they got rather personal with some of the hazing.

Why would LSU hate the Dores? DiNardo left Vandy for LSU

Dont let UMs stadium fool you...the place holds a lot of people, but the top row is a looooooooooooooong way away from the field. Yes it is a full place, but no where near as loud as Neyland on a bad day.

Living in Texas, I have been to Kyle Field (Texas A & M)several times. That crowd of approx 85,000 is twice as loud as Neyland, and they don't stop, no matter how badly they are getting beaten. I wish we were as intimidating as those people.

Hilarious. I live very close by, and on game days, if you're really quiet and get right next to the stadium, you can her noise inside.
