Randy Sanders says thank you

Well..... he had a hand in the slide that started all those years ago.... that has the program where it is today
His last year here was 2005, 13 seasons ago. We went 19-8 the next 2 years, which included a 10-win season and trip to the SECCG in 2007. I don’t think that “slide” and the current 11 year slide are the same “slides”. Jmo

Imagine if Cutcliffe had never left for Ole Miss in December 1998? I don't think Tennessee would have fallen off.

In a perfect world, Fulmer, Cutcliffe and Chavis would've walked off into the sunset after at least a couple of more NCs and handing over the reins of a still well-oiled machine to a new generation.

But, alas.

Cut could have wound up being named Georgia head coach in December 2000 or Florida head coach December 2001. He would have been hired by someone as head coach in the early 2000s

Are you on drugs, dude? Randy Sanders helped build this program in the 90s and helped win the only NC of my lifetime. Fulmer then got fat and lazy and threw Sanders under the bus to save his job. Both are VFLs.

True, as a QB coach, but once he became the OC the playcalling became stagnant and predictable.

You can sniff his rear if that's how you feel, but facts are facts. Every year the offense declined under Sanders.... look it up.

The only reason we won that natty was because of Cutcliffe and we sucked until he came back.

We won a national championship with Randy Sanders as OC.

Cutcliffe was OC that season and left just before the national championship game to coach Ole Miss in their bowl game, after Tuberville left to go to Auburn. We won the national championship game despite Sanders. That was his first game as OC.

2001 season?

It seems to me that the failure of Sanders and the subsequent failure of Fulmer himself follows a course in direct correlation to the talent on the field.
