with regard to the relative quality, lack of quality among fulmer's assistants, one should remember that these guys have gotten to work with some of the best athletes in the country, year in and year out. that being said, what have they produced? 0 conference titles and 0 championships the last 9 years.

RS was never considered a bad qb coach, and he got the lion's share of the blame for 05 season, but it's debatable about how much influence CPF had on RS and his tendencies......

in fact, in 04, i think RS did a very good job as a coach considering he was working with two freshmen qb's.....
I agree with everything except he got "All the Blame" for Tennessee's downfall, and 5/6 season. But Kentucky knew better.

He's just the QB coach. Andre Woodson was a 4* QB out of high school. Let's see what he does next year before we anoint him with praise.

I liked how he called the NC game against Florida State but Other times I wasnt real impressed. I know you have to consider different talent levels from different years and you can only work with what you got, talent wise, plus PF putting down clamps. You also cant just look at the bad years and say he was sorry, because overall I guess he did good in 2001 as if we had not lost to LSU for the SEC, another NC appearance prob.

I fixed it for you.

I went to KY's Music City Bowl with a friend, I went to the "cat walk" and shook Randy Sanders hand. I can still smell it to this day :)

And if the players don't execute the plays then what......get the fans out of the stands and blame them one by one? Come on, what was it the 93 game when players said that it was like they knew what we were gonna call before we called it? Its just as much the play calling as it is execution on the field. Do I think we can do both, oh yea!, but enough with the coach bashing....if we flop this year ( looks up to the sky.....please don't) do we need to go get Cut and string him up?

Me too. I can smell my hand because I haven't washed it since I shook RS' hand at the Music City Bowl. :p

I give RS a lot of credit for AW's growth, because he gave Woodson a good kick in the butt after Spring 06 practice with the threat of losing his starting job. Woodson responded by sleeping with a portable DVD player, literally walking around campus breaking down game footage 24/7.

AW was good, but unmotivated. RS was the impetus that was able to turn the switch in AW's head to become what he is at the moment.

So good that he hasn't gotten a sniff of another head coaching job since Pete Boone iced him.

Cutcliffe is the only HC is Ole Miss history to lead the team to 4 bowl appearances in his first 5 seasons. In 114 years, and no other coach has done that says to me he's pretty good given the right players.

The guys Orgeron inherited from Coach Cut's recruiting classes says he wasn't getting the right players.

Agree. I don't know all the ins and outs, but I think Sanders was the scapegoat for a lot of the problems, which seemed to run deeper than what the OC could control.
