I wonder why Behr and Volly were postin' 'bout the FF Gruden thread content in the Behr foodie thread and not here...

My smartass answer is, she was involved in that conversation in the Gruden thread. I brought it up there for anyone to respond to and no one did. I didn't want to make a big deal about it so I took it to the ask Behr thread because I knew she would see it there.

Honest answer is, you weren't around and I didn't know how to contact you to see where you wanted me to post my question.

The B52s song "love shack" clearly says " tin roof rusted". So clearly you are wrong.

They're just songsters from Georgia, Slice. I am Tin Man.

FYI: Tin doesn't rust. Rust is another name for a compound known as iron oxide. Iron, water and oxygen need to react together for rust to be produced. Because tin doesn't contain iron, it cannot rust.

Y'all be trippin'. Rust is iron oxide. Tin may oxidize, but it doesn't rust. Citing a bunch of '80s band mates as an authority on roofing materials is indefensible. Clearly, they misidentified galvanized steel roofing as tin.

In the Wizard of Oz, the Tin Man's joints froze when exposed to moisture. They did not rust (become iron oxide). Indeed, this is an opportune lead in for a discussion of "rust" in the common vernacular. Often, it is misapplied to indicate other than iron oxide. More often than not, "rusted shut" indicates that a movable part does not easily move as expected or designed. It does not indicate that iron oxide is the culprit in all or even most instances.

In the aforementioned documentary, rust is specifically mentioned with regard to the Tin Man. Not just some tightness from lack of movement.
