Bless me Father, for I have sinned. I cooked and ate pork ribs last night, during Passover. I did it to please my wife. She left this morning for a 5-day trip. I prepared them just the way she liked. She was thrilled. I am confounded. This sinful undertaking was to please my wife on the eve of her journey, and yet, I feel some shame this morning for my insensitivity to Passover. I've already done two Hail Marys and two Our Fathers (and I saved some ribs for you, Father).

Read the last chapter of Colossians earlier and it got me to thinking. The early church included Paul's letter to Laodicea in the Cannon of scripture, but it is no longer included. The end of Colossians tells us to read that book. Is the Bible itself telling us that this letter should be included?

The Bible was put together by men. Some ancient texts were discounted and not included. It has been in the hands of man for many centuries, where it has been translated and edited countless times. How do we know the Bible truthfully speaks the message of God? How much has been forgotten? How much have men influenced the Word?

I've read it and find less than controversial

Guess that's a matter of faith.....but......the Dead Sea scrolls contain copies of several books of Torah (OT) in their entirety. The book of Isaiah, for example, dates in the neighborhood of 500 BCE. It has zero mistakes or changes from what we have now in the original language. You can argue whether or not it's the word of G-d. Most of the Torah has been proven to be accurate to its originals.
