When someone you're not really acquainted with (like the cashier at the dollar store), tells you, "I'm sorry you hurt your leg". Do they mean it, or say it just because that's the polite thing to say?

It depends. Look at body language, facial expression, and listen to tone of voice.

If there really is no end to space then there is unlimited area to travel should a person or company ever create a spacecraft or spacecrafts.
