Seriously, they just don't make cartoons like the old days. Sure, Family Guy is awesome, but that's more an adult show than for kids. Kids cartoons nowadays are so boring. I've sat through episodes of Dora the Explorer with my niece and nephews. I've sat through a number of their cartoons. It's all crappy. Nothing like when I was a kid. Honestly, the last kid oriented cartoon I liked was Pinky and the Brain, and that show was done years ago.

But it was awesome.

I think Hanna-Barbera did the best cartoons imo. Don't get me wrong, I loved Bugs and all the Warner characters too, but HB just put out so many different characters. From Scooby Doo and The Flintstones to Thundarr the Barbarian. They had a very wide range of characters, both comedy oriented, and action oriented.

Sly, what's your all-time favorite cartoon? Mine was Scooby Doo until that little turd pup came along, but I still stop and watch old Scooby Doo's from before his time when I see them.

Jerry's a toughie to pick. I'm thinking Pinky and the Brain later in life, but what as a kid? I could see him having some weird fantasy about a threeway with the Wonder Twins, but I'm going to guess Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends, which given the time period was a really well done show. I liked Firestar and Iceman.

Yep, I skipped work so I could sit here and post on VN in my misery. The good news is, I haven't had to run to the bathroom in the last hour. The bad news is, I still can't get any sleep. Hooray for feeling completely ****ty on two levels. Physically, I feel like hell. Mentally/emotionally, I feel guilty as hell about not going to work. Sure, my guys should be able to manage a day without me, but I still feel guilty as hell for not being there when I know there's things that need to be done. Anyone else beat themselves up when they call in sick? I mean, I know I'm sick, and I know I'd probably waste more time running to the bathroom rather than working, and I know I'd probably only be able to make it a few hours at most before my body just said "fawk you! I quit!" on me, but it's the idea that I've somehow failed. I hate this feeling.

Now, where was I? Oh yeah, I remember, anyone a big fan of The Jetsons? I liked the Jetsons. For whatever reason, it seemed like a rarity that I'd find them on TV, so that made them kind of special because I hadn't seen every episode a million times like I did with Scooby and The Flintstones. Same reason I loved Chilly Willy, Underdog, Mighty Mouse, and a number of other cartoons. For whatever reason, they seemed less syndicated than the others.

And I love Yogi Bear too. Yogi is like the only impression I can do. "Heya Booboo, why don't we go and steal ourselves a pic-a-nic basket!"

I feel like hell. Fighting a rancid stomach bug, bum knee hurts like a mother, and I seriously think I might have a fawked up rotator cuff. Combine that with insomnia and I'm giving serious thought to calling in sick. Supposed to be at work at 5am, so just under an hour and a half from now. I'm not feeling it.

I've got a bum knee and bad rotator cuff from a car wreck. Causes me a lot of trouble.

Of course, the most special of special growing up was actually seeing a Disney movie on TV. I mean, this was before VHS even, so one of the Disney animated movies coming on TV was a big deal. Dumbo is still my all time Disney fave. The scene where his mom reaches through the prison bars to hold him still breaks my heart even to this day.

Where the fawk did he go? And why hasn't he liked all my posts? Cartoon philosophers are seriously underappreciated.

Seems like I remember episodes where the trademarked lion was replaced by Tom, but I could be wrong.

Scooby Doo was solid, minus Scrappy of course.

Spider Man was always my fav, loved super friends also, but I thought the Wonder Twins sucked. I remember having a Spider-Man doll like the old GI Joes with a string for a web had a hook on it so he could hang on things..

I am an animal lover(not in a bestiality way), but is it wrong that I always wanted the Mystery Machine to run Scrappy over and force them to euthanize him? I would have watched that episode over and over, all the while giggling like a little girl.

Or Muttley, if I could do his laugh. He had the best laugh.

Scooby Doo and Muttley teaming up for an episode would have been awesome.

I did love Pinky and the Brain, Ren and Stempy and 2 Stupid Dogs as I got older. Aqua Teen too. As a kid Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends was awesome, big He-Man guy too, obviously by the Avi. My fav was Scooby and yes **** Scrappy. Idk if anyone remembers it but I love Laff Olympics I think it was called oh The Brak Show and Space Ghost Coast to Coast were great too.
