sr, jr, John Ford and crew and one of their grandparents lived across the street from us on Macinness Drive. Ole Mr Peete. Very nice. He had a daughter that was married to Tree Rollins when he played for Atlanta

Yeah these type of deals and the issues in North Ga has certainly caused my job to be more difficult and because of the fear of law suits I am convienced it has help to drive up cost

Had a nice encounter with the local county cops this morning. I'm cruising down the road @ 8 am on my way to working out. Got the cruise set on 40 mph. Pass a county LEO backed way up in a parking lot. Suddenly, he's behind me flashing the lights. I pull over.

LEO-Could I see your driver's license, registration and proof of insurance please?
Slydell-Why?
LEO-I pulled you over for excessive speed and need to see them for my report.
Slydell-I don't think that's necessary, officer.
LEO- And, why is that, sir?
Slydell-I wasn't speeding.
LEO-I clocked you at 40 mph.
Slydell-Impressive, that's exactly what my speedometer read. Nice to know that it's accurate.
LEO-So, you admit you were speeding?
Slydell-Hardly, the speed limit on this section of road is 40 mph. It's 50 mph and about a 300-400 yards back it changes to 40 mph. Another mile and it transitions to 35 mph and another half mile or so it drops to 30 mph.
LEO-Are you sure?
Slydell-Quite. Perhaps you were supposed to be stationed a bit further down the road?
LEO-It's possible. This is my first assignment in this area.
Slydell-If you'd like, you can ride with me or follow me back up the road about 300 yards and you will see the speed limit sign.
LEO-That's not necessary.
Slydell-Thank you. If there's nothing further, I'll be on my way.
LEO- I swear..in his best Steve Martin impression...Excuuuuuuuuuuse me.
Slydell-Have a good day officer.
LEO-You, too. I apologize for the inconvenience I've caused you.

Nice guy.

I did. It was funny at the time. Thought I was going to have another encounter this evening on the way to Ye Olde. Sitting at the traffic light on John Sevier just before crossing over to Chapman Highway. I'm in the left lane next to the turning lane. Light is red, obviously. Truck comes out of nowhere and hits the car next to me pushing it within a foot of my car. I always wonder how I'd react in a situation like this but you don't have time to react.

As opening day approaches, reality starts to creep in. FF should be real fun this year.

I think reality slips away from most on the board as kickoff approaches, in 3 weeks the natives will be off the reservation, 10 wins will be considered reasonable, and the tire fire will be that much hottet when the reality sets in that we just aren't going to be that good.

Oh, Lawd. We're years away from 10 wins. I remember the good ole days when 8-10 wins just wasn't good enough.
