Naw. It was this older gentleman and his wife. I walk up to greet them, with hand extended and he blows right past me. He says he wants to talk "this man" as he points to one of my older white co-workers. Initially I thought little of it, but then I started to realize that he had never work with the co-worker he demanded to work with. The salesperson the customer was talking to said he was about to leave, but that I (me) could help him. The customer said I'd rather not. My coworker then said that this gentleman could help him(my black co-worker). The customer again declined. We then found him a suitable salesperson who showed him around a little bit but wasn't very helpful. Customer left.
My white co-worker explained the whole situation to the managers and all of them were upset.
I was kinda hurt and shook by the whole ordeal. Not gonna lie and say I didn't fight back a tear. I didn't cry or anything, and I just played it off. I don't know why I was hurt so bad. I guess it was because I haven't been hit so bluntly with it.
I pity that customer, I pity his small mindset. I pity his world.
