Have you ever heard the saying, "You've been married 5 times and every time the woman was a *****? If you've been married five times, maybe it's you."

I think that saying may apply to employment, as well.

Not all of us have the ability to stay at Hardee's for 14 years, Ron. I would recommend cwil just go take night courses at Dartmouth and work with Ben Matlock in his spare time.

At some point, I'll probably have to plug this flash drive into one of my professors' computers. It will remain "flash drive".

So the next door neighbors are throwing a party and invited me. I walked over, 8 dudes 1chick and blasting Kid Rock...and I'm out!

I get what you're saying. I think it's just that I'm not interested in what I'm doing. I don't have a problem with working hard. I stayed at my landscaping job for about a year and a half.

You need a firm grasp on the term "work". Hard work is work you don't enjoy doing, but you do it anyway because it's what you're paid to do. Work you enjoy isn't hard.

Then what's the point? If it's about the money, I'm not interested. I would gladly take minimum wage for a job that I could use to make a difference.

The point is to make enough money to earn a living. You take the jobs you can get. You want to move to another job? Then have it lined up before leaving your gainful employment. If you can't find a job you "like", is your plan to live off the govt dime? If you want to make a difference, volunteer at a soup kitchen when you get off from the job that pays your bills. Bottom line, you take the job that pays you enough to survive on your own. You can make a difference through afterhours charity work, but you have to take care of yourself before you can take care of others.

Your age has blinded you to the facts of the world. Dreaming of doing noble things is great, but reality is you don't always get what you want. If you deem certain work beneath you, then probability tends to lean towards you being one of those needing to be helped rather than giving help.

Maybe I'm an ass, or maybe just a hardcore cynic, but at your age, it's time to put on the big boy pants and be a man. Sounds simple, but it isn't as most people in today's world love to hide from personal accountabilty and responsibility. Don't be one of those people. Do what you have to do to pay the bills, whether you enjoy it or not. You still have plenty of time to chase dreams, but do it in a more intelligent fashion. You want to be noble, do it during your personal time. That's sacrifice.

And appearances to the contrary, I'm not trying to blast you CDub. The biggest difference you can personally make is taking care of yourself rather than relying upon others to do it for you. Don't look to your parents, don't look to the welfare system, get out there and take whatever job you can get and bust your ass doing it. A long list of erratic employment is a turn off to future job employers so continuing to bounce from job to job is not helping you.
