I don't usually miss carp. Got a huge blue cat too. We don't see those often.
Do you skin those or fillet them from the inside out? I watched a cool vid the other night showing a guy cutting them at or just below the gills and sliding the knife down the skeleton down toward the tail and stopping just short. Then, he flipped that flap over and filleted it from the inside against the skin.
