You didn't address my question. You simply gave a 101 baseball line-up history lesson. Murphy isn't a HOFer. He's not even close. I assume you checked his stats against current HOF first basemen. After seeing those stats, I assume you decided to turn this into a battle of line-ups. This is silly but it's still fun. Make another excuse. Try pitching, brah.

I said in the post it is tough to stand out at first base. You have names like McCovey, Murray, Gehrig, McGwire, etc in front of him.

But on a quick search, McGwire has the most homers at 1B with 580. Most in the NL only is McCovey at 436. Murph with 399 is on close to that. It would take time to break it down further with positional statistics.
