I have a SweetWater IPA in my hand right now that is 6.3% . I got it at a gas station here in TN. AB/InBev started distributing Sweetwater so it is abundant now. It is retarded to make any beer be sold in the liquor store because of ABV. If a beer falls into the 6% range it has to be sold in the liquor store. 6.9% is ok in a regular store. 7% has to be sold in liquor stores. Luckily I am about 15 minutes from an awesome beer store in north GA. I just have to cross the state line to get a much better beer selection. I want that selection here though.

yeah I know. There is a Walgreens just across the bridge in West Memphis ARkansas that has a full-fledged beer and liquore store inside. A lot of people go over there and make large purchases to bring back.

i personally think it is just fear mongering. I mean, the grocers aren't going to carry all your hard to find stuff. There will still be a need for liquor stores, etc, especially for wine enthusiasts. I don't like the idea of laws being in place to simply keep people in business. We are supposed to operate in a free market.

I agree with you, but I do see both sides. Sales at local places will suffer unless they reinvent themselves.

they've been pushing to change that ancient law for years (allowing wine and liquore to be sold in groceries) Unfortunately every year we hear the same ole song and dance about how it is going to shut the little guys down.

I read today that most liquor stores are saying that if the state will allow them to sell other items such as chips, candy, snacks, etc then they would be ok with allowing grocery stored to sale wine. Liquor isn't even up for consideration. They article I read says that most lawmakers believe it has a 50/50 chance this time which is much better than it has ever been. This bill is usually dead in the water as soon as it is brought up.

I don't care what your religious beliefs are. They shouldn't have any effect on the creation of law.

You can practice whatever set of beliefs you'd like, but don't try forcing them on everyone else.

eggzactry. I thought the bill of rights covered this..
