I was stationed at Pendleton, but we had a place in San Clemente. I'd like to move back some day.

Right on. I have eaten at the In and Out by Pendleton many a time. I am actually from Orange County originally. My grandfather was stationed there for his entire career and retired back in the late 80's. San Diego is great, but way too expensive to live there.

I never got to go up to NorCal on my own time. The closest I ever got was going to the Mountain Warfare Training Center in Bridgeport right outside of Yosemite. Beautiful, but 15+ mile hikes while climbing from 6000 to 11000 feet above sea level probably made me more unappreciative of the views than I should have been.
