I did experience a few when I lived in So Cal. I had to cross teh San Andrease Fault line twice on my home each day. We had one hit about 40 miles away that was around 8.2.

Felt one a little on while I was livin in Millington tn some years ago.. Got home from work from FD and was bout to go back to bed and it was around school time when buses were running I thought it was a bus going by, I asked my wife she said the bus picked up the kids an hour ago..
It sounded and felt like a bus going by the house to me.
