Busy workin, but I'm not on a crew anymore. I got my own desk & computer but dealing with contractors and engineers etc is over my head sometimes. Makes me miss being on the crew in the mud.
Workin' in the ditch is good work. You'll find that you get just as tired working at a desk if you're doing it right. Pay attention and you'll learn lots from the contractors and engineers. Any time you have a question, just ask it. They will be happy to answer it. They all love what they do and are eager to explain it.
They are all nice guys, I've learned some stuff. I'm still tring to learn our sewer system they ask me questions and I'm still kinda lost but the more we get out in the field I learn the system. I HATE sitting in those engineers meetings I fight sleep like Ali every time!!
Yeah, all meetings are usually boring. I tried to make it a point that mine weren't. Also, found it very helpful if I prefaced a question with "So, let me ask a dumb question". Made it easier for me to ask the question and seemed to make it easier to get a detailed answer.
