My friend and I used to talk about the base education we received in grammar and high schools. We went to different grammar schools, but the same high school. It seemed that we and our friends got a better education at our high school than many others in surrounding areas. Not sure why, but you could tell it when you had conversations with others.

I like to think I've managed to survive despite my early education.

My education got worse as I got older. I had great teachers in elementary and middle school, but by the time I got to high school, most of them weren't very good.

It's not hard for students to see a bad teacher for what they are. Maybe said teachers were broken by the system and apathy set in, but they do exist. On the flip side, I also had some very great teachers.

The govt/admin is just simply screwed up. Personally, I question if they have any interest in teaching free thought or if they're just trying to brainwash the next generation into a certain mindset. Yeah, sounds like a conspiracy theory, but thinking outside the box hasn't been encouraged for some time.

Parents need to take a more active role in their kids' education, but in the current economy, it's become harder to do so IMO. When both parents have to work to support the household, the kids suffer the most.

Give them just enough education to get by and pay taxes, but not too much so that they can see how f'ed up our gov't is and do something about it. Sound about right?

People have never been able to see that. Not even from the very first government that started this mess we live in.

Yep, everybody is too busy blaming the left or the right and can't see it's the gov't as a whole. Wrong forum, we better not get started on this....:)

The AD makes it harder and harder for me to give them money. I'm getting the it's Friday afternoon and I don't want to screw with this attitude right now.

I just spent 20 minutes talking to the AD to be told "I don't know" in the end. Christ almighty.
