Still is IMO. Just stand and watch old people buy stuff and not know how to do the self-checkout lulz.

when I got my first job at kroger we still had to wear button shirts and ties as bag boys in the blazing hot sun. And we didn't have those damn little robot things that get your carts. You had to get every one by hand.

No chit and minimum wage was minimum

Freak, aren't you in the Knoxville area? Seems like you are. Anyway, Costco is opening there soon and here is what they have as a special every single day. The one here uses Hebrew National for the dogs. I get the polish one half the time. They have sour kraut under the counter but you have to ask for it.

I'm pumped about the new Costco. I think it opens in November if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks for the tip on the hot dogs. A friend told me they have unbeatable deals on diapers, although that doesn't help me much. Not for a few more years anyway. :)

I had a second cousin who worked at Kroger while she was going to UT. After she graduated, she continued until she became a manager. This was 30 years ago. She was making big bucks.

I know the department managers made coin back in the day. I worked at Food Leon, home of tainted meat and union busting.

Costco is great, HOWEVER, what sucks about Tn is our backwards laws about selling wine and liquor only in liquor stores. If they changed the law, you would be able to purchase some great deals at Costco like in other states.

It's my go to place if I'm out shopping and hungry. Plus, you can walk around a sample a lot of good things. They have some great deals on a lot of things. Best part is their guarantee and customer service. They will not let you be disappointed. I've bought a number of items that are their brand (Kirkland) and have never been disappointed with any purchase. Their gas is usually 15-25 cents cheaper than local gas. Price of the card is a drop in the bucket for what you get.
