Awesome. My oldest brother (half brother) used to wrench for his Step-dad and his mom back in the late 60s early 70s. They ran a Pro-Stock and an ET Bracket car of some kind. (it was a malibu er something like that) Pro-Stock was a 69 Camaro, and then moved up to the Vega when that came out.

hahaha, just found this pic of his Step Dad, back in the day. Taking on a little air here!!! :eek:lol:

you can see the look on his face!!!

anyways, my brother wrenched for his stepdad and mom, and they hung with Dick Lahaie and his bunch. He is a crew chief for some super modified right now, for a group that owns 3 cars, including an Arca.

Thanks for the cliffnotes. Very cool.

Dick Lahaie was a genius. I think he is in very bad health these days though. He was the brains behind this monster.

his shop was 2 doors down from my brothers. They hung out every weekend at the track. I loved sitting there in the pits with those guys. GREAT GUYS. I didnt have any idea back then that Dick was the legendary racer that he became.

When I got a little older, I went to the GatorNationals 4 years in a row. Hung out with DL and his gang each time. It was pretty cool to have those guys know me by name. (it didnt help me with any chicks though)

I will check with my brother and see if he knows how DL is doing right now. They still see each other now and then.

Oh, and a couple more old time shots, this is one of their vegas
