He was an artillary spotter in the big one flying a piper cub. When he went to helicopters he was already a captain. Retired as a Lt. Colonel and was asked to come back to run an air base in Viet Nam and he said yes. That's another crazy story.

Do you remember which base? Sounds like he liked the action. Can't blame him in that position.

did you guys know that all of the Riverboat casinos in Shreveport actually have an on duty Coast Guard chief at all times.

there are 2 in Shreveport that are actually boats. The chief told me they could have it ready to move in less than 6 hours. It really doesnt matter though, when the Margarritaville Hotel, Casino and Resort is finished its gonna put a bunch of them out of business.

Ah, didn't know about those. We used to shoot over when I live in Texas back in the 90's.
