You'll be close enough to "uptown" to walk get trashed and walk back. They have lots of bike cops so it's very safe. Stay away from the bus terminal downtown not that you wouldn't be safe it's just not where you'll wanna be hanging out. Also stick to the downtown area. If you stop seeing well dressed people walking turn around. It's a safe safe area but northbound bumps into a bad area.

They've done a ton to make uptown a spot you can live without driving in. Lots of million dollar condos down there now. Decent nightlife. Good safe bike patrols. Lots of lighting.

FYI whiskey river can be packed and would run 25ish in age range. If you like dancing though it's a decent stop. There are bars off all types. I'd just ask your concierge at the hotel. They'll tell you what you're looking for and how to get there. IMO Charlotte is best done on foot and 1-2hrs per bar at a time. Stay away from bar Charlotte it's young jailbait. Off the path is the breakfast club which is a fun 80's dance club.

If you like to dance and get a chance breakfast club
Lunch - fox and the hound is a nice uptown pub.
If you have your kids with you discovery place a science museum is awesome.

I have so many clothes thrown all over my room that I told my mom if she found me dead in the morning to drag me to the top of the stairs n toss me down them n tell the coroner I slipped n fell
