I almost did an random act of kindness. I just got back from a little breakfast/burger diner I frequent every week. A little old lady came in and sat down a few tables down from me. The waitress came up to her to ask her what she would like to drink/eat. The lady told her she only had 5 dollars, and asked what could she could get for that much. As soon as I heard that I tried to get the waitresses attention so I could tell her that I would like to pay for her lunch. Before I could, a lady sitting behind her motioned to the waitress and told her she would like to pay for the ladies lunch. Damn beech stole my chance at an opportunity for my random act of kindness.

Is it wrong that I want to act like Thrash and rage at my missed opportunity?

Also, she was almost certainly a panhandler. Be glad you didn't fall into her trap.
