One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez (should be required reading for all humans)
The Tao of Pooh (what the hell!) by Benjamin Hoff
Lucky Jim by Kingsley Amis
The Good Earth by Pearl S Buck
War and Peace by Tolstoy
The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky (RIP)
The Tropic of Cancer and The Tropic of Capricorn by Henry Miller
The Bible
Every book by Hermann Hesse
Crime and Punishment is phenomenal. I just prefer people read The Brothers Karamazov, first. The juxtaposition of the two novels shows that he really was the most talented human being to ever live.
