lol weak.

I wrote a 30 page paper in 2 days last semester.

I wasn't bragging about lol. I was pointing out the fact that I waited till two days before it was due to even read the book. You ever read it?

What about you Pooch? I thought it was pretty good myself.

it sounds familiar but i don't know if i have read it.

I actually didn't know there was a novel. Is it anything like the poem?

Idk, haven't read it. Just know that it was supposedly a very good piece of literature.

Ulysses was a novel by Joyce.

An example of something from Joyce that I did not notice the first time around was the first chapter of A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man. Upon first discovery, one might not realize that the entire first chapter only contains about 200 or so different words; the repetition of words is congruent with the speech and thought patterns of a child, which the narrator is at the time in the novel. It is so simple, but I did not readily realize it until it was discussed in class.

That's actually pretty bichin'.

Throughout the novel his vocabulary and thought processes actually "mature", as it was planned in conception by Joyce and as young Stephen Dedalus grows; Stephen is for St. Stephen and Dedalus was an allusion to Daedalus, the father of Icarus in Greek mythology. That and Ulysses are considered 2 of the greatest novels of the 20th century; the same semi-autobiographical character is the main character of both.

Still got a ways to go until April 21, and I've seen people plan for a while in advance and back out at the last minute. I'd rather just wait until early-mid April and kind of wing it. I'm not a very good planner and I don't want the drama to kill it, as it is often wont to do around here....

I have not. I just lurked some threads back when everyone hated me and wished I was cool. :)

We'll do it up, though. The best thing will be having some of us together, imo... Seeing who's the ugliest, irl. I got my money on you. :p
