I've had a number of turbo cars. They do consume a bit more oil, but have never had black smoke out the tailpipes. My turbos were earlier models, though. Black smoke usually indicates a rich fuel mixture. If the car is running good, then it's no problem other than the drop in mpg.

Yep, they run it rich from the factory. I just wanted them to check it out since mazda issued a warranty extension on the Mazdaspeed 3's turbo. The warranty ends at 70,000 and I was at 69,400, so I wanted to have them to take a look at it.

Now I can put the aftermarket intake back on, and the testpipe will be on hopefully on tuesday or thursday if I can find the time.
