If your jumping onto a platform,

You take your vertical+ how high you can bend your knees.

Since verticals is a mark off how you can get you feet off the ground, when you jump onto something, instead of measuring where you feet are, you can bend your knees for a higher clearance.

I know how a vertical jump is tested....

I'm saying that, knowing I have a 29 inch vertical..... I can jump onto a 36 inch platform if I bend my knees...

So, your vertical is increased by 7 inches if you bend your knees? In confrused.

My 16yr old just did a 38in jump on to a retaining wall at my house. They train Plyos at football all the time but this is not as hard as I thought.

7 inches between your foot and knee must be a little awkward though. I bet you do have the highest, straight knee jump for anyone with an inseam less than 20", unless you have really long femurs.

Vertical and platform are different, like running and jumping over a fence... The higher the more you'd have to bend your knees.
